Why stock photos rarely work.

From my own experience, I can say: images have incredible power. They are often the first point of contact between a business and its potential customers. That’s why I’m convinced that professional photos are more than just “beautiful” — they’re tools to build trust and relationships.
Time and again, I see how professional photos transform the perception of a business. They show a commitment to quality. It’s no coincidence that we instinctively trust brands that pay attention to detail.
When I photograph businesses, one thing is especially important to me: authenticity. Stock photos are nice, but they don’t tell your story. I believe people want to see who they’re dealing with — whether it’s your team, your office, or your production space.
Imagine you’re a bike mechanic, and your online presence looks flawless because you used stunning stock images. That might initially attract customers, but if they arrive at a messy backyard shop, they’ll likely turn away. Instead, had you presented yourself as a charming, skilled craftsman and shown your real workshop, this wouldn’t happen.
In this case, a personal branding shoot as a lovable eccentric would have definitely driven more business. 😉
